Privacy Policy

Seen Kuwait is a place-discovery and exploration app for Kuwait, operated from Kuwait. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have.

Account details: your email address and password (stored only as a secure hash), or the identifier returned when you sign in with Google or Apple. Password accounts must verify their email address.

Profile: your username, display name, bio, avatar, and cover image, together with the interests you choose during onboarding.

Visits (the place, caption, and visibility you pick), posts, stories, and comments.

Photos and other media you upload are stored on Cloudflare R2 and shown only to the audience you selected.

Who you follow, the places you save and like, and the achievements you unlock.

Your notification and privacy preferences, including the default visibility for your visits, stories, and tagged content.

With your permission, we use your location to show nearby places and to build a private exploration map of the areas you have visited.

If you enable background location, the app keeps updating your private exploration map in the background without storing an exact route. Your location is aggregated into exploration grid cells; raw samples are rounded, throttled, and kept only for a limited time. We record your consent, and you can turn tracking off at any time.

We collect privacy-first aggregate telemetry about how the app and this website are used. Page views are hashed into a pseudonymous visitor identifier using a salt that rotates every day, so the same visitor cannot be linked from one day to the next. We do not store raw page views or IP addresses, and we do not use cookies for analytics.

If you are signed in, your user id may be attached to events for retention analytics only. It is never sold, and it is removed when your account is deleted.

• To operate and improve the core features: the map, visits, stories, and exploration.
• To personalise recommendations and nearby suggestions.
• To keep the community safe, including moderation and abuse handling.
• To respond to your support requests.

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the providers needed to run the service: Cloudflare (hosting, database, media storage, queues, and transactional email), and Google and Apple when you choose their sign-in. We may disclose information where the law requires it.

Raw location samples are kept for up to 30 days and then removed; your exploration map retains only aggregated grid cells. When you request account deletion, your profile is hidden immediately and is recoverable for 30 days, after which it is permanently deleted. Some records may be retained where we are legally required to keep them.

• Change the visibility of your visits, stories, and profile in Settings → Privacy.
• Turn exploration tracking on or off, or use the app with while-in-use location only, in Settings → Location.
• Delete your account from Settings → Account. You have 30 days to recover it.
• Email support@seenkw.com to ask a question or exercise a right.

Seen Kuwait is intended for people aged 13 and over. Our age policy version is 13-plus-v1. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13; if we learn that we have, we will delete it.

We may update this policy as the app changes. We will revise the date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, let you know in the app.
