Location Policy

We ask for your location to show nearby places and, if you choose, to build a private exploration map of the areas you have visited.

The app asks for while-in-use location first. Background (“Always”) location is a separate, optional step you can enable for exploration. Either can be changed or revoked at any time in your device settings.

When exploration is on, we aggregate your location into exploration grid cells (exploration_grid_cells). These cells record which areas you have covered, not the path you took.

Raw location samples (location_samples) are rounded, rate-limited through a per-user throttle (location_record_throttles), and stored only briefly. We also keep a record of your consent and when you gave it (location_consents).

We do not store an exact route of where you have been. This is the promise made by the app's permission prompt: “Allow Seen Kuwait to update your private exploration map in the background without storing an exact route.”

• Turn exploration tracking on or off at any time in Settings → Location.
• Use the app with while-in-use location only, or deny location entirely; the rest of the app keeps working.
• Change Seen Kuwait's location permission in your device settings.
• Delete your account to remove your consent and exploration data.

Your exploration map is private. We never show your exact location or route to other users or to administrators. Only aggregate coverage, such as an exploration percentage, may be shown, and only to people you allow through your privacy settings.

Raw samples are deleted after a limited period (up to 30 days). Aggregated grid cells are kept while exploration is enabled and removed when you turn the feature off or delete your account.

Seen Kuwait is intended for people aged 13 and over (age policy version 13-plus-v1). We do not knowingly collect location from children under 13.
